WordPress Plugins Basics ebook available!

So I’ve got the WordPress Plugins Basics ebook available now. Woo hoo! One of those things that I wanted to create for people who are just getting started with WordPress and aren’t really sure what a plugin is or which ones you should use. Because there are literally thousands of great plugins available, I just started with some of the plugins that I thought were important to install and understand when you’re new to WordPress.

One of the examples in the book is the Plugin for Google Analytics. It’s important to get this installed right away so you can start looking at how people are finding your site, which keywords they’re using and what your main source of traffic is. It could be really frustrating if you spent months working on a blog /site only to find out that your visitors were looking for something else – that you could have been providing!

  1. This sounds great! Glad I got your notification on Facebook! There’s so many things I’d like to learn to improve my WordPress sites ~ I’d like to learn to do them myself so I don’t have to rely on anyone. It’s so hard to get help at midnight when is when I’m usually working on all my posts! Thanks for the info!

  3. Came from StudioPress, nice to find your blog. I hope to move to WordPress.org with my own domain in 2 mths time, using the same theme here. A lot to learn.

    Hi Janet,
    Thanks! I LOVE WordPress (and ALL the Studio Press themes). I should have more videos & how to up when you’re ready to move over. I’d recommend doing it sooner rather than later (part of your page rank has to do with the time your site has been online- and your url will be diff. because it won’t have the wordpress.com in it).
    I like your blog…it makes me want to travel! Great pix.
    Thanks,

    Working on switching over from Blogspot to WP. Love your theme and seriously considering StudioPress. Is it easy to design? I’ve designed my Blogspot pages; can this be as easy? {{please, oh please}}

    Signed up for your ebook. Thanks for such a great and helpful site!

    Hi Jody,

    Thanks for the comment! :-) StudioPress themes are great- and very easy to work with. They also have amazing support forums where you can find just about any question answered….or post one and get it answered.
    Do you have a lot of content in your other site? You should be able to just import your current blog into WordPress. Glad you like the book – I’ve got an advanced plugin ebook coming out soon too! :-)
    Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Have a great day,
    Kim
