There’s been an upgrade to the plugin “featured-content- gallery” and I know some people have been having some issues with it. And while this may be a little bit of a repeat, Brian Gardner announced that you will be able to put the title of the featured content areas of the homepage in directly from your dashboard, as opposed to having to go into the home.php file.

So, back to the content-gallery plugin. If you’ve used this before, just make sure that you have at least two pictures uploaded and you put the post id into the featured-content-gallery editor (under settings in the dashboard, select the featured content gallery and on the featured content gallery configuration page, in the last box put your post id numbers with commas and NO spaces (ex: 46,47). If you don’t know how to find the post id number, once you’ve save the post you can get the id number by either clicking on it on the home page or clicking on it in your dashboard (under posts, select edit, then select the post you want).

I’ve found that’s it’s best to have at least 3 images in your content gallery – because the transition time doesn’t seem to lag as much when their are more images.

If you haven’t noticed by now, the Revolution2 themes by Brian Gardner are absolutely my most FAVORITE WordPress themes available right now! They’re not free, but they’re SO worth every penny! Before I knew how to customize the themes myself, I had a company design my wordpresschick theme for me (yes, I paid them…but they had already done my selfhelpchick site…and I LOVED them both). I loved the look and the colors, but knew that in order to take this site to the next level, I really needed to have something that was a litte more of a magazine style theme and had better options for using all types of media. And when in helping another client, I discovered the revolution themes!

So the really cool thing is that in his email today (not to me personally, but to his subscribers), he said he’s updating the themes so the categories on the front can be moved by simply dragging and dropping…much like you re-order widgets! WOO HOO! No more digging into php…..and that he’s trying to widgetize everything. Ah, how I love widgets! So, needless to say…as soon as they’re available I’ll be purchasing them and will have links and tutorials out too!
