StudioPress Tip – Remove Search Box [video]
One thing that can be a little tricky with a few of the StudioPress themes is not having enough room in your navigation bar for all your page titles (some of the themes will drop the pages to a row beneath the main navbar – but you may not want that).
This video shows you two steps: the first will show you how to remove the search box from the navbar and the second step will show you how to place it somewhere else (in this case, in the header). I created this a few months ago for someone and he recently asked me to send him the link again….so I thought, why not create a post out of it?
*There’s one thing I left out in the video though! And it’s kind of an important step. SO…after you’ve removed the search form from your navigation- you’ll see in the video where I have you expand the navbar left to a width of 960 (this is so the pages will continue across the entire width of the navigation).
Here’s what I FORGOT to show you in the video though! And you’ll notice after you adjust the navbarleft, save and refresh the page- there’s a thin white line between the navbar and the subnavbar (which is the category bar in the Lifestyle theme). What you ALSO need to do is drop the navbarright width down to 0px! (that’s zero px). And that should get rid of the small white space between the navbar & subnavbar.
Here’s the video!
