Sidebar Ads plugin [VIDEO]

wp125If you visit many blogs (especially those of people in the ‘blogging’ or ‘internet marketing’ niche) you’ve probably noticed the square banners in the sidebar (or possibly the footer).

While you can copy and paste ads into your sidebar, this plugin will do the work for you! All you need to do is add the target link (ex: if this is an affiliate link you’ll use your affiliate link as the target url) and the image url (I’ll show you how to find this/get this in the video). Then you just designate which position you want the ‘ad’ or banner to go in and how long you want it displayed! What’s so great about this plugin is that you can have the images rotate so that it doesn’t look as static or like you haven’t changed the content in a while. You’ll even get an email reminder when one of your ads is about to expire. Pretty handy!

There’s just a few things to do when setting up the plugin initially- check out the video as I walk you through how to use this plugin!

    Thanks Jessica!
I was super pleased to see how easy this plugin was to use.
    Kim :-)

  3. Got it up! That was easy! However, I have it set for 2 columns but there is only one. I think it’s because my column is to thin. So, I’m going to try to widen it to see if that fixes the problem.

    Thanks Again!

    Hi Jessica,
Great! Just peeked at your sight…You’ll definitely have to make the sidebar wider…
or just use a single column (but maybe in the left column?).
    Thanks Jessica,
    Kim

  5. Hi Kim, I agree with you. To the left column they go! (much easier than figuring out how to mess with widths)

  6. Thanks for the tutorial! – my site is still very new but I’ll be definitely using the plugin in the future.
I love how you brand your videos with your graphics, too. May I ask what software you are using to make your videos?

    Hi Joanna,
You’re most welcome…glad you liked it!
I use camtasia to record the videos then I created a custom start screen. I’ve been playing w/wp and video for a while now and have been working on the EASIEST way to incorporate video into WordPress- lots of trial and error. I’ve got something I’ve been working on for a bit- should be done next month!
    Thanks for the comment.

  8. Hi – I’ve downloaded the plugin and like the options of email and expiration date. I’m having trouble figuring out the screen image code, especially if the image is hosted by the company itself.

  9. Kim says:

    Hi,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! I can do a video showing you how to do this- it just might be a couple days. I have a couple of suggestions as far as when the image is hosted by the company itself- I’ll incorporate that too.
I can probably get an email to you sooner than the post is done… :-)
    Thanks,
    Kim
