Gravity Forms- EASY WordPress form [video]
One request I get EVERY time I do a customization for a client is to include a contact form plugin on their site. Obviously this isn’t some odd request out of left field- everyone SHOULD have a contact form on their site. There are a few different options out there that do the basics, are very easy to use and configure for any WordPress user. The reason I started looking for another option besides the two contact forms I had been using was because a client was looking for something that did a lot more (AND was easy to use…..that’s kind of the key point to this whole review).
I also thought that it would make my life easier if I set up a customization form for new clients as opposed to the pdf that I would email them (which often came back without some of the required information I needed to do their customization…the form of course allows you to set certain fields as REQUIRED fields). Besides using it for just a customization form, you can also use it as a registration form (which I’ve done on a site for a local event I”m hosting). It was also really easy to set up the confirmation email for new registrants.
Here’s a couple of the features that I LOVE about this plugin:
- Users can upload images (or files)
- Easily create drop down options or radio buttons to select choices
- Create auto responder emails WITHIN gravity forms
- Ability to download your entries as a CSV file
- Respond to entries from your WordPress Dashboard
- Drag & drop interface
- and SO much more!
Check out the short video I’ve done showing you how to set up a new custom contact form.

Nice video. I’d been wondering about Gravity forms. Definitely seems worth the price!
Hi Connie,
Thanks for the comment. I absolutely LOVE Gravity Forms….SO easy to use!
Thanks,
Kim
A friend of mine just introduced me to Gravity forms a couple weeks back. Seriously, I’m going to have to go replace forms on any website I’ve ever set up a different form plugin on. Having access to the data from the WP dashboard was a feature I didn’t think I would care about. But, then I realized you could leave notes on there as well (like: followed up on 11/25, client responded 11/26, etc…), it turned out to be my favorite feature.
Great post!
Hi John,
Thanks for the comment!
I know what you mean….initially I tested this for myself then loved it so much I got the developers license for client sites too! I still have to change out some of the forms on some of my sites- but it’s SO worth it!
Thanks again,
Kim
Just downloaded Gravity Forms and am seriously impressed by all the functionality. However, I wanted to use it to replace the good, but limited, Register-Plus to expand the WP registration form, only to find that this can’t be done (yet!).
You mention that you’ve used this plugin for registration (if I read that correctly) – any tips on how you did this?
Many thanks.
Hi Mark,
I don’t think the way I used it as a registration form is exactly what you’re looking for.
I simply created the fields that I wanted to use and selected which fields were required, etc. You can use form scheduling to schedule when the form is available as well as limit the form entries. My registration was for an in-town local event.
Thanks,
Kim
As always, thanks for this timly video Kim! I had watched it a couple of times and finally decided to get Gravity Forms (via your affiliate link of course!)
Made my business site so much more user friendly! Now I can go use it on my other sites too.
Thanks again!
