Free Keyword Tool for your blog [video]

keyword_toolI have to be honest….keyword research is not one of my favorite tasks when it comes to marketing….unfortunately, it’s one of the MOST important things you need to be doing on a consistent basis to drive traffic, increase rankings, etc. So needless to say I was super thrilled when I found this free keyword research tool! And it’s by none other than WordTracker! I’ve made a quick video showing you how to download and use this tool. By the way, this tool is a Firefox plugin…so it won’t work with any other browser.

Here’s the link to SEO Blogger by WordTracker.

  1. This is a great tool and a great video example! I knew keyword research was important but it can be so tedious! This is a new add on to firefox I will be installing!

This has nothing to do with your video, I have been trying to contact you to ask about doing some work for me but your contact page is not working. All I see is:

    Contact

    [contact-form 1 "Contact form 1"]

Never had a problem before, hope it’s not just me

    Cheers
    Leo

  4. Terrific video and tool for firefox. Another one I will definitely add !

    Thanks so much for sharing!

  5. Hi Kim,

You’re doing a great job on the site! Love your work.

By the way, I don’t know if you’ve fixed the issue Leo pointed out, but it’s most likely that your contact form plugin isn’t active. I’ve experienced this same issue.

  6. Kim says:

    Hi Bill,
    Thanks!
I actually had installed Gravity Forms (but hadn’t set up a form yet)- then deleted my contact form 7 before checking! DUH!
    Totally appreciate the comment,
    Thanks,
    Kim

Thanks for posting this link. I saw this free tool being used by Mike Mindell at an internet marketing conference but they never forwarded the link to us as promised! Just started blogging last month so this will be really helpful.

  9. Kim says:

    Hi Kathleen,
    You’re welcome.
I do that a lot myself… especially at conferences! (there’s SO much information you get back and sort of forget all the things you saw!).
Keep me posted with your blog! :-)
    Kim

  10. Do you have an embedded code for your videos. I wanted to know if I can place your video on my site for my readers to view. Thanks.

  11. Wow, this is an awesome tool – thank you so much for sharing! I never fully understood just how important the keyword search was until I watched your video to see how the SEO Blogger tool work – it makes a lot more sense now! Thanks again!

  12. Ursula says:

Hmm… I guess that comment got a little messed up – I don’t think I fully understood how the KeywordLuv plugin works! Doh! ;)

  13. Kim says:

    Hi Ursula,
Thanks! I saw your comment re: the Keyword Luv plugin? Were you referring to the WordTracker tool or the plugin? :-)
Think I’m going to switch to comment luv…..I like the idea of people getting a link back to their latest post as opposed to just the site.
    Kim

  14. Kim says:

    Hi Dynasty,
    Thanks so much! :-)
I’ve been a little slow about getting all my videos up on YouTube…is there a specific one you wanted? Otherwise I’ll get them up on my YouTube Channel & send you the link.
Let me know if there’s one you wanted now though. :-)
    Kim

  15. This video featured in this post “Free Keyword Tool for your blog [video]“. Thanks.

  16. I have used keyword luv for a week. this is really a too good strategy to get some relevant and good comments except spamming. Nice post and thanks for the support to keywordluv plug in.

  17. Kim says:

    Thanks Samphaul,
So far so good! Still thinking about switching to comment luv….haven’t decided.
    Thanks,
    Kim

    Hi Kim.

Really cool info. And love your simple presentation.

Will add this to my Firefox browser. Your blog is bookmarked and will give you a Tweet.. ;)

The funny thing when I watched your video, was that your WordPress editor catched my eyes too. You had so many additional cool tools for your WP editor. Now how in the world do you set that up?

    Cheers,..Are

  19. Kim says:

Thanks for the comment…..and tweet! :-)
And now I have another great idea (thanks to you)- for another video! My WordPress editor! Sometimes you get so used to the things that you use that you forget to share them.
I’ll be checking out your site as well…
    Thanks again,
    Kim

  20. Thanks for sharing this feature, Kim. I got it all installed very easily. Do you know what exactly the the tool is searching, what time period?

  21. Kim says:

    Hi Melissa,
Glad you liked it. I would assume the time period for the search is real time – but not exactly sure.
You could probably get a little more info. directly from Wordtracker on the details of how it works.
    Thanks,
    Kim

    Kim,

Love your videos, watch them all the time. Unfortunately, when trying to install SEO Tracker Firefox tells me that it is not compatible with vs. 3.6? Any suggestions?

    Thank you

  23. Jess Drenth says:

    Hi Kim,
Looks like I can’t install this tool with the newest version of Firefox (3.6) – does it still work for you? Any tips? I’m enjoying your videos, thanks!

    Hi Kim–

I’m a new reader and just love your blog! You’re providing great and useful information–thanks!

I tried to download this nifty plug-in but I get an error saying that it’s not compatible with FireFox 3.6. As far as I know, that’s the latest version of FireFox. Am I doing something wrong?

I also sent this question to the Wordtracker people. Just thought you might know something… :)

    Thanks!

  25. Denise G. says:

    Hi Kim–

I just found your blog and just love it! I really appreciate the WordPress and Studio Press tips your provide.

Just an fyi–I wasn’t able to install this plug-in on FireFox 3.6. I contacted customer support and was told they’re currently working on the plug-in to make it compatible with FireFox 3.6.

I’ll keep checking back with them on this because the plug-in would be so helpful–love it!

    Thanks!
    Denise

  26. Kim says:

    Hi Denise,
Thanks for the comment- sorry it’s taken a few days to get back to you.
I’m glad you got an answer back- that’s the only problem with plugins (on WordPress too)- there can be compatibility issues /updates, etc.
This is a great plugin- hope they get it working quickly (especially since you can only use it with Firefox!).
    Thanks,
    Kim

  27. Kim says:

    Hi Jess,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you!
Someone else had the same issue- she contacted WordTracker and they’re working on it. So you might want to check directly at their site/blog for the updates.
    Thanks,
    Kim

  28. Kim says:

    Hi Abi,
So sorry for the delay in getting back to you!
Someone else mentioned they were having issues also and contacted WordTracker. They’re working on an update to the plugin- so it should be compatible soon.
    Thanks,
    Kim
ps- thanks for watching the videos! :-)
